This is a network security system that can be administered from a central admin machine.
The Network Security Protector is a network-based security software. Any organization that has to protect a set of machines against security threats could use this tool. Corporations, public libraries, internet cafes, schools, universities and other public environment applications with machines at different locations can be managed from the administrator’s machine. You need to install and configure the remote client service application on all your remote workstations, to be able to work remotely with them. The utility would let you set up 600 different security restrictions, options and tweaks. This will restrict access to various parts of the Windows. Applying patches remotely, shutdowns, as well as scheduling reboots over the network becomes easy. This has a simple interface and is quite intuitive. Most users would be able to get productive very quickly. The controls are also well laid out. Users will be able to figure out what to do and how to do it. For experienced administrator it will be absolutely straightforward.
On the left of the interface you get all the options available. Common restrictions and user restrictions are two groups the restrictions are divided into. The available settings are displayed in detail. For example, the “Explorer” group lists options like “hide drives on my computer”, “prevent access to content on selected drives”, “disable the “autorun feature on certain drives”, “allow running only certain applications”, etc. This is a very good product. If you are looking for a similar solution, this is a good candidate for a trial in your exact set up.
